The JLC movement is not as robust and not as well finished (IWC does a real number on the ETA while the JLC movement is supplied in rougher form). I've got a thing for IWC Pilot's watches. I like the Mk XII but it is a bit small at 36mm. I like the idea of the JLC movement but as mafoofan stated it's not the most robust movement. I have a white Mark XV and a 3717. The 3717 gets more wrist time, but I love them both. IWC's braclets are a thing of beauty. I would go for the Rolex. I had an Explorer and now regret selling it. It was a good size and went with everything. I have it on my list of wathes to buy in the future.
