The noise maker has nothing to do with any part of the BOV system. It is there to enhance in cabin engine sound. Unlike the Mustang that uses in car audio, the noisemaker directs engine sounds toward the driver compartment. Our cars have BOV/air re-circulation valves. There is nothing fake about it. I was never fond of the idea of making fake engine noise. It also frees up a little space in engine bay. I'm interested in how it holds up in time with under hood heat. I have a 2014 Taurus SHO w/ 83K miles. I bought it in mid 2019 w/ 47K miles. When acceleration is slow/mild, it creates this "gurgle" type of noise. Under heavy acceleration, it's not there. I've seen someone mention about the cam phasers but I had both cam phasers and timing chain replaced last year. Any idea what the cause of this is?

If the Explorer Sport is anything like the Taurus SHO, there is no digital enhanced fake engine noise.
